Dr. Victor Perry

Dr. Perry is a graduate of Yale Medical School. He trained in neurological surgery at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. During residency, he completed an NIH-sponsored neurooncology fellowship in the Hunterian Laboratory at Johns Hopkins. Following residency, he completed a fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery at the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. He then became the Director of Pediatric Surgical Epilepsy in the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Perry has specialty interests in the diagnosis and surgical management of pediatric central nervous system disorders, including brain and spinal cord tumors, hydrocephalus, spina bifida, Chiari malformations, craniofacial abnormalities, and epilepsy. Dr. Perry's current laboratory research endeavors include nervous system development. He is also engaged in collaborative research into imaging in pediatric epilepsy patients. In collaboration with the UNC Neuroscience Center, he is examining the molecular mechanisms underlying the development of hydrocephalus. His clinical work was featured on the Discovery Channel series “Surgery Saved My Life” and he has been published multiple times in journal publications.
